I have been quarantining in Queens with a few friends, and boy do we have a discovery to share with you. So, as you all know, I am OBSESSED with Mexican food. I could not go months without having it, so I needed to find a local Mexican restaurant that was delivering near me to help me get through these crazy times. Alexisstanstacos stumbled across Fidela’s in Flushing and insisted that I try it, and it did NOT disappoint. I have already ordered it twice and fully intend on ordering on Cinco de Mayo as well!
I am going to dedicate this post to their chips and guacamole and their al pastor taco. First, let’s talk guac. They serve a giant portion of guac and chips for only $8! You can’t beat that deal. The chips are so fresh, perfectly salty, and they give you plenty, which is always a plus. Their guac is also very delicious, not quite as good as Taqueria Coatzingo’s, but lets be real, no one’s is. They use lots of onion, cilantro, and tomatoes, which I really loved. Some places don’t put tomatoes in their guacamole, so it is always a pleasant surprise for me when they do.
The al pastor taco is also definitely worth mentioning. As you can probably guess, I also ordered a carnitas taco, and it was fantastic, but that is not what we are going to talk about today. The al pastor taco was super juicy, and flavorful, and had lots of pineapple giving it a sweet kick with each bite! I added a little bit of lime and tomatillo and it was AMAZING.
If you are in Queens during quarantine, this place is a must-have. They have super good prices, TONS of options, and they deliver! I think that on Cinco de Mayo I am going to order the tinga, the barbacoa taco and another al pastor (and of course chips and guac, duh!).
